Seaworthy Collective Wins Federal Funds
Seaworthy Collective, a Miami-based BlueTech accelerator, has been awarded $250,000 in federal funds to develop and advance new ocean climate technology. This grant is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Ocean-based Climate Resilience Accelerators program, and Seaworthy Collective is one of only 16 organizations nationwide to receive the funding.
“We’re joining forces to co-create the Upwell Collaborative Accelerator, which encompasses our shared vision to break down barriers keeping startups from getting to market, while making support for ocean-based climate resilience solutions more scalable, efficient, and interconnected,” said Daniel Kleinman, founder and CEO of Seaworthy Collective.
Climate Week Miami Announced
Mark your calendars for April 22-29, as Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava has announced the inaugural Climate Week Miami. This week-long event aims to bring together hundreds of local, national, and international organizations, entrepreneurs, policymakers, scientists, and artists to contribute to building a climate-resilient future.

Yuga Labs Gets a New CEO
Greg Solano, founder of Yuga Labs, has announced that he’s returning to the helm as CEO, replacing Daniel Alegre. Solano plans to “unshackle the BAYC team at Yuga” and position Otherside as “the living room of Web3.”
Tech Salaries Fall in Miami
According to the 2024 Dice Salary Report, tech salaries in Miami have taken a hit, with the average salary dropping 4.3% to $100,093. This decline is part of a larger trend, as tech layoffs eliminated an estimated 211,000 jobs from the sector last year.
Black Ambition Prize Competition Opens
The Black Ambition Prize Competition is back for its fourth year, offering a grand prize of $1 million to Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs. Founded by Pharrell Williams, the competition aims to provide funding and resources to underrepresented founders.
