SLB and Palo Alto Networks Expand Partnership to Enhance Cybersecurity in the Energy Sector

The global energy technology company SLB (NYSE: SLB) and the world’s leading cybersecurity solutions provider, Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW), have announced their intention to intensify their cooperation to improve cybersecurity in the energy sector.

The companies will combine SLB’s cloud and edge technologies and expertise in the energy sector with Palo Alto Networks’ industry-wide, platform-based cybersecurity solutions. This will not only enable SLB to defend its leading market position with its own security infrastructure but also drive forward future improved solutions to address evolving cyber threats while implementing digital solutions and artificial intelligence at a rapid pace.

“The maturity of the digital transformation of our industry makes cybersecurity a key factor for our activities and the digital solutions we offer our customers,” explains Olivier Le Peuch, Chief Executive Officer at SLB. “With this cooperation, we will expand and strengthen our role as the preferred digital partner for our customers.”

Partnership to Improve Cybersecurity

As part of the cooperation, SLB will integrate Palo Alto Networks’ Precision AI-powered cybersecurity platforms, such as Prisma SASE, Prisma Cloud, and Cortex XSIAM, into its technology stack. These platforms will enable SLB to ensure comprehensive security in its network, cloud, and edge platforms, allowing thousands of domain and AI users to collaborate in a secure environment via SLB’s digital platform Delfi. As more energy customers transition to automated and autonomous processes, the companies will develop and implement key solutions for edge products and services.

“In the course of platformization, companies can simplify their management processes, reduce their total cost of ownership (TCO), and improve their security,” says Nikesh Arora, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Palo Alto Networks. “Palo Alto Networks recommends SLB due to its pioneering approach to shaping the future of the energy industry through secure and innovative solutions. Its vision of modern IT transformation through platformization perfectly matches our own initiatives to protect critical infrastructure and promote technological innovation. Together, we can build a robust and secure energy ecosystem that will be ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.”
