Sulmara Expands Subsea Offer with New Business Line
Scotland-based subsea specialist Sulmara is enhancing its services related to subsea cables and pipelines by introducing a new suite of offerings aimed at reducing operational risks for clients while supporting their net zero goals. The new Route Development business line will provide comprehensive support from project planning to operational phases, including specialty services such as feasibility studies, seabed mapping, and route optimization. Sulmara’s recent appointments of industry veterans Perry Balls and Alison Lucas Collier as Business Development Director and Commercial Director, respectively, further strengthen the Route Development division. The company’s CEO, Kevin McBarron, expressed confidence in the expertise and experience brought by the new hires, emphasizing the commitment to a sustainable energy future. Sulmara’s strategic move to consolidate various services under the Route Development banner is expected to significantly benefit clients in reducing their carbon footprint. Leveraging advanced survey technology, a state-of-the-art vessel, uncrewed technology, and a skilled team, Sulmara aims to offer a comprehensive approach to subsea projects, aligning with the industry’s demand for internally managed and reported services. The new business line complements Sulmara’s existing offerings and follows a substantial commitment to the renewable energy sector through a recent charter deal with Atlantic Offshore for the vessel Ocean Marlin.
