Students showcase their skills at Tech Wars 2024

The annual Tech Wars event, hosted by Genesee Community College, is set to electrify the Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming (GLOW) region in 2024. This mind-expanding competition brings together middle and high school students to showcase their innovative prowess in a wide array of challenges.

Battlebot Soccer, Regatta, and More

Tech Wars 2024 boasts an impressive lineup of events that will put students’ skills to the test. From the adrenaline-pumping Battlebot Soccer to the precision-driven Regatta and Bridge competitions, there’s no shortage of excitement. CO2 Cars will have participants racing against the clock, while the Logo Design and Sculpture events allow for artistic expression.

The Regatta event challenges students’ engineering skills

For those with a keen eye for detail, the Onsite CAD Drawing and Reverse Engineering CAD competitions await. Skimmer Cars and Sumo Bots promise to be crowd favorites, while the Tractor Pull and Trebuchet events showcase raw power and accuracy.

New Additions and Legacy Events

Tech Wars 2024 introduces the thrilling Drone Agility event for high school students, adding a new dimension to the competition. Middle schoolers can look forward to the return of the Mini-Bot competition, Skimmer Cars, and Technical Drawing.

“The Mystery Event allows students to use their creativity and skills in a timed situation,” said a spokesperson for Genesee Community College.

Legacy events such as Catapult, Rube Goldberg, and Sculpture continue to challenge and inspire participants.

STEAM Jam and Educational Support

Tech Wars also features STEAM Jam @ Tech Wars, catering to 3rd to 5th grade students. This initiative aims to foster a love for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics at an early age.
